We, the Deaf Faith Catholic Community of the Diocese of Shreveport embrace the universal mission of the Catholic Faith through empowerment, encouragement and support of deaf Catholics, as well as fellowship and fulfillment of their baptismal community. This community, through the gifts of the Holy Spirit, is to empower and to meet the needs of deaf Catholics through spiritual fellowships, religious education, prayer, and interpreting. Most importantly, we are to promote and appreciate the deep respect for deaf people's language and culture. |
